A warm welcome to 2017!

I had a wonderful Christmas holiday with family and friends. Cosy days spent relaxing at home watching Christmassy telly and eating delights like this home-made Victoria sponge.
My mother stayed with me for a week and my cat, Tipsy, woke us at 04:00 each day. We are all early risers but this was ridiculously early. When I say she woke us, Tipsy is a very vocal cat and I think she thought if she terrorised my mother then she might not come again. My mother was sleeping in my bed and Tipsy, who usually sleeps at the foot of the bed, must have seen this as an intrusion. The morning after my mother left Tipsy woke at 07:30 and has thereafter.
I am looking forward to more adventures and an exciting year ahead. I shall begin the year quaffing some fizz whilst watching The New Year's Day Concert live from Vienna.
