Hooray! PhD proposal accepted!

21/7/2017

I'm delighted that my PhD proposal has been accepted by University College London.

My research will  critically examine the access provision for deaf students in higher education with specific exploration of interpreting support in the classroom for those students using British Sign Language (BSL).

Research questions

  1. What are the positive and negative aspects of the new DSA-QAG framework from the viewpoint of agencies, deaf students and interpreters?
  2. What impact has the new DSA-QAG framework had on the NMH support received by deaf students?
  3. What tools, coping strategies and linguistic features are adopted by interpreters which make a successful interpretation in the classroom?

I'm sure this will evolve and I shall be posting regular updates here. If you are a deaf student studying at university or you are about to begin your studies, please do get in contact.
